Fabulous to visit stunning Kiama on Saturday to speak at the Kiama Readers’ Festival on Run For Your Life. It’s the first talk I’ve ever given where there’s been a backstage from which you can emerge like a rock star (but without the adulation!) through the curtains.
A really receptive audience, though, with lots of questions and comments on both the Russian and Australian immigration systems that led to the little family hiding out in the back of beyond for so long. And a friendly encounter with award-winning crime author Chris Hammer in the (white) green room — despite the fact we were rivals in the same timeslot at different locations!
