Stopping off briefly in Saigon for the break between flights back to Australia. Time for my favourite meal – Cha Ca – a great traditional dish that fed Ho Chi Minh and his co-conspirators when they were fighting off the French. This was a Cha Ca restaurant in the centre, with a burner on the table where you cook your own fish, spring onions and various herbs, then pile them on top of rice noodles, peanuts and basil and top it off with fish sauce. Delicious!
