What’s the worst announcement you can hear on a train from Sydney to Lithgow when you’re on your way to a funeral? I can tell you now from personal experience: “This train will stop for 80 minutes at Bell station, just past Katoomba, because of track problems.” Knowing I’d then arrive too late for the funeral, I jumped off the train, crossed the lines, and tried to call an Uber from the nearest road, only to receive the message, No Drivers. So instead, I managed to hitch a lift with a road gang on their way to Lithgow, and arrived just in time for the ceremony. Thanks so much, guys! I really owe you!
