I was so excited to be visiting the Trulli of Alberobello in Italy’s Puglia – traditional white homes with conical, pointed dry stone roofs that are today form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They’re a pretty startling sight. Apparently, the roofs provide natural insulation, keeping thehomes warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and there are even some now that have been converted into Airbnbs for tourists to try them out.
