Fun to do a presentation to the Crows Nest Probus Club on Australia’s third governor, Philip Gidley King, who had both a wife and a mistress … with a fair share of trauma and torment. I’ve met members before when talking about earlier books and it’s always a great chance to catch up. Many of them have fabulous tales of their ancestors in the early days of the colony too and it always makes for a fascinating morning at the Crows Nest Community Centre.
