Do you think you ever get over this? The room is set — in this case the auditorium of the Australian National Maritime Museum — the poster is up, the books are ready, the screen is primed … and then the terror sets in. What if no one shows up? And then, finally, enormous relief when people do start coming through the doors. I’m always overcome with gratitude that people have made the effort but they probably have little idea of the psychological drama at play in advance of their arrival!
