Off on assignment with Traveller to one of the most remote areas in the world — the Peruvian Amazon. I’ve visited the Amazon before, but only from the Brazilian and Ecuadorian sides; this is my first time to the Peruvian part. Our jumping off point is Iquitos, a surprisingly large city that’s equally surprisingly hard to get to. Because it’s flanked by thick jungle on one side, and water on the other, the only way there is to fly, making it the biggest city in the world without road access.
