Went back in time to Old Government House in Parramatta in Western Sydney to attend their Regency Fair with so many people in costume (sorry, not me!) to wander around heritage market stalls, and attend historical workshops and talks. Went to a brilliant presentation by Robin Walsh on the fifth Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his faithful servant George, a slave boy he bought in Cochin at the age of 5 or 6 for 85 rupees — roughly the cost of 12 bottles of Madeira wine. And while there, I signed some of my books that the bookshop stock. The lovely staff said they always recommend them to all visitors – thanks a million guys!!!
