On our way to the welcome reception of the World Travel & Tourism Council’s annual global summit, you catch amazing views in all directions. This is of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a church dome that dominates the Valletta skyline. The original church was built on the site in 1570, but was destroyed during World War II and the neoclassical replacement was built between 1958 and 1981 by architect Ġużè Damato.
