So excited to discover I’ve been named one of the three finalists for the annual Australian Society of Travel Writers’ Awards for best culinary travel story of the year! It wasn’t about a fancy feast or a Michelin-starred restaurant, either, but a simple meal served in the home of a beautiful Moroccan family who wanted to share their food culture with visitors. The story appeared in Traveller in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, and I loved writing it! It was The New Type of Must-do Meal on Trips that Don’t Involve a Restaurant published by @travellerau
I’m in august company, too, competing against Denise Cullen, for A Star is Reborn published by The Australian and Chrissie McClatchie, The -All-You-Can-Eat Buffet that’s France’s Favourite Restaurant published by BBC Travel.
Good luck to us all! (Although I realise only one of us can win!)
