Handsome Hambledon

Working on a new Australian historical novel and visited the Macarthurs’ Hambledon Cottage in the grounds of their Elizabeth Farm at Parramatta to do some research. What a beautiful building, and made even more so by the fabulous volunteer guides, Emily and Susan, who showed me around and were so generous with their time and knowledge. It brought the place to life! So fascinating to have such a glimpse of those lives and to see it so beautifully preserved and cared for. Thanks, ladies! Next Saturday November 1 is their Foundation Day, with lots of events and craftspeople in the grounds. Not to be missed!
