Had a really fun launch of my new book, The Duke’s Secret, about the Duke of Wellington and his affairs, at, most fittingly, The Hero of Waterloo pub at The Rocks, one of Sydney’s oldest hostelries. We had a fabulous band, Pump & Pyro, playing lively music from the era, lots of friends, family and colleagues along for the ride, the excellent MC Wendy Rattray, and even my stab at a Wellington-style outfit to help set the mood. It felt the best possible delivery into the world! We did the Iron Duke proud, although he might not have been so pleased with the spotlight on his philandering ways … here’s a musical slideshow so you can feel like you were there.

Hello Sue, I recently heard you interviewed on I think late night live perhaps and was fascinated to hear about your book which I intend purchasing along with copies for my Scottish family . My link to the Wellesley Family happened when my maiden mature Aunt ( a sister of my mother) married Lord George Wellesley in the 1950’ & became Lady Jean Wellesley . She had left the north of Scotland to work as a Chamber maid with aristocratic families in Kensington London. By the time she married she had trained as a Spirella Corsetiere and was a Friend of Mrs Soames from the Churchill family . Are you having any further launches or have I missed those ?
