In Ravenna. It’s hard to know where to go first to admire the artistry of the mosaic work. But one not to be missed is the mosaic of John the Baptist performing the baptism of Christ in the River Jordan in the octagonal Arian Baptistry. A delegation of priests, however, held up the queue as they were given priority entry.
