Loved writing a cover story on the lesser-known and under-visited parts of Africa for Traveller with the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. Inside, I also wrote a piece on Morocco’s towering Mediaeval fortress Ait Benhaddou where Russell Crowe’s Gladiator had such a tough time, and where Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen’s marched up to the earthen walls with her army to free the slaves. And another piece about the new rules of African safari. Thanks to Traveller for a fine spread on the continent which has always been very close to my heart.
