Two high-profile events to launch That Bligh Girl

If you loved Sue’s first venture into fiction you should check your diaries for a couple of events to mark the publication of her latest historical novel That Bligh Girl.

Something of  a prequel to her best-selling fiction debut Elizabeth & Elizabeth, That Bligh Girl follows the fascinating story of Mary, the ‘firebrand’ daughter of Governor Bligh (of Mutiny on the Bounty and Rum Rebellion infamy).

Rest assured, Mary was definitely no shrinking violet herself; in fact she was a feisty, powerful and determined woman. You can read more about her and Sue’s novel HERE.

To coincide with the publication of That Bligh Girl, Sue has been invited by the NSW State Library to give a talk on the untold stories of women of colonial Sydney.

That’s on Tuesday May 9 12.30pm-1.30pm at the library’s Metcalfe Auditorium on the ground floor. Admission free and full details HERE.

That Bligh Girl has also been chosen by the National Trust of Australia for an official launch by Sue at the heritage-listed Old Government House, Parramatta on May 11, 11am-12pm.

You can book tickets for the event, where Sue will be signing copies,  HERE.

That Bligh Girl has a publication date of May 2, 2023 (Allen & Unwin, rrp 32.99).
